The rumor about a mysterious creature originated from there, but since there were hardly any survivors, it's hard to get any solid information. I want you to go talk to some of the residents of South Hamlet. Try Reina and Natasha. They might be able to tell you how North Hamlet was reduced to ruins overnight.
